Bill Coleman, 60 of Pittsburg, died at his home Saturday, July 7, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janie Doyle Coleman; daughters, Betsy Coleman and Leslie Gilpin; and six grandchildren, Tyler, Kristen, Alex, Rileigh, Tootsie and Max, and his sister Mary Wolfe and her husband, Howard and her daughter, Carrie Theiling and her family.
He was President of VinylPlex, Inc, Mr. Coleman served as Board advisor, active member and benefactor of many organizations, including: President of Children’s Advocacy Center; Boy Scouts; SEK Humane Society; Founder of Community Foundation of SEK; City of Pittsburg Economic Development Advisory Committee; Pittsburg Schools (USD # 250) Business & Education Alliance; PSU Students in Free Enterprise; Ft Scott Community College Trade School; Salvation Army; Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce; Frontenac Rotary; Little Balkans Days; United Way, and a 32nd Degree Mason.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Brenner Mortuary. Mr. Coleman has been cremated. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to the Children’s Advocacy Center. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
