PITTSBURG —
On June 14, 2012 at 5:35 P.M., Donna Lou Edwards, 56, passed peacefully onto Heaven at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, while surrounded by her loving children and family, after suffering a heart condition.
Donna was born on February 14th, 1956 in Denver, Colorado and was raised by her Grandparents Harold and Irene Tedrick, in Weir, Kansas. She graduated from Southeast High School in May 1974.
In June 1974, she married Russell Evan Edwards of Pittsburg, Kansas. They had two sons, Ryan Evan and Christopher Lee Edwards. In 1977, Russell and Donna separated.
From there Donna pursued her dreams and went on to graduate from the Vo-Tech School for Human Resources and went to work for the Social and Rehabilitation services of Columbus, Kansas.
In 1980, she moved to Pittsburg and went to work at Pitt Plastics as a Professional Office Assistant until 1994. In 1985 she met Dennis Hewett of Frontenac, Kansas and they had two children, Justin Aaron Edwards and Briana Denise Edwards.
From 1994-1998 Donna moved to Nebraska to get to know her brothers and worked for Hergert Milling as the plant manger’s secretary.
She then returned and lived in Corona, Kansas for a year before returning to Pittsburg and working for Cash and Grain and Randy Vilale before falling into ill health.
Survivors include her partner, Steve Hiniger of Crestline, Kansas, two brothers Bruce and Brian Armstrong of Nebraska and a sister, Jean Frye of Gulfport, Mississippi. Her children, spouses and grandchildren, Ryan and Sarah Edwards and Timothy and Jordan, Chris and SaraBeth Edwards and Caidance, Kylie and Neccoli, Justin Edwards and Ava Jade, and Briana Edwards and Jericho. Also, her sister-in-laws, Pamela Heenan and Teri Edwards of Pittsburg, and Sharon Edwards-Westphal of Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Her mother-in-law Nancy Briggs and several other nieces and nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her Grandparents Harold and Irene Tedrick and a babygirl, Lindsey.
Donna led a full and happy life and will be loved forever and truly missed by all.
