Billy Joe Douglas, 82, of Mulberry, KS, passed away at 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Girard Medical Center.

He was born June 15, 1930, at Arma, KS, the son of Elmer Clyde and Edith (Calhoun) Douglas. He attended Mulberry schools.

On December 23, 1950, he married Ida Mae West at Mulberry, KS. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2011.

Mr. Douglas worked for TWA as a master painter and lived in Kansas City, MO, until moving back to Mulberry in 1988.

Membership was held in the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Pittsburg, KS.

Survivors include his three daughters, Linda Joyce Smith of Lenexa, KS, Jane Ann Funk of Overland Park, KS, and Tammy Jo Shaw of Mulberry, KS; a sister, Loritta Gobl of Mulberry, KS; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Mr. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ida, two brothers, Carroll Allen and Junior Douglas, two sisters, Anna Mae Murray and Delores Mullin and a great grandchild, Faith Smith.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday (June 28) at the Brenner Mortuary with Pastor Daryl Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry, KS. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Friends may also leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, Kansas.
