Wilma “Corky” Margurite Mays, age 83 of Pittsburg, KS passed from this life Monday, June 25, 2012 at Via Christ Hospital, Pittsburg, KS.
Wilma was born January 12, 1929 in Midway, KS to the union of George and Lavina (Norris) Shreve. She attended Cherokee schools until the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Robert Mays on June 2, 1949 in Cherokee, KS. Wilma spent most of her life as a homemaker, loving and caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed singing, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons Ted Lee, and Robert Mays; four sister’s Shirley, Sally, Tini, and Lavone; one brother Charles; She is survived by one son Bill Mays of Pittsburg, KS; four daughters Judy Brooks of West Moreland, KS, Debbie Glisar and husband Robert of Pittsburg, KS, Roberta Castellani and husband Robert of Pittsburg, KS, amd Maxine Span and husband Earnest of Pittsburg, KS; three brothers Donald, Ronnie, Jerry; three sisters Anna Bell, Dorothy, and Barbara; twenty one grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, June 29, 2012 at Open Door Fellowship, 20th and the Bypass. Pastor Donald Tallent will officiate.
