WEST RADLEY —

Carl W. Sipes, 67 of South Radley, KS, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at his home.
Carl was born August 11, 1941 in South Radley, Kan., to Carl C. and Angelina (Frondiza) Sipes. He attended local schools, graduating from Pittsburg High School with the class of 1958. He went on to graduate from PSU, in 1962 with a BA.
On February 25, 1966, in Pittsburg, Kan., he married Linda Sothern. She survives of the home. Carl worked for McNally’s Mfg. CO., in Pittsburg,  for 31 years, retiring as a Project Manager. Carl was a musician. He played the keyboard and bass guitar, in a band called Connie and the Bellhops. Carl played and coached softball for numerous Sunset Manor teams. Additional survivors include his daughters Stacey Shupert and her husband Ed of Overland Park, Kan., and Nikki Sipes of Joplin, Mo.; sister Tina Brown and her husband Ron of Radley; two grandsons John Benjamin and Jack Thomas Shupert both of Overland Park, Kan; along with a niece Jenna Brown and nephew Cooper Brown both of Radley.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2008 at Friskel Funeral Home, 230 E. McKay St. in Frontenac. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may call the funeral home after 3 p.m. on Thursday.
