Lena K. (Musso) Bennett, 94, of Pittsburg, passed away peacefully at 6:42 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Lena was born August 23, 1915 to Mary and Jim Musso in Arma, Kansas. She was raised since the age of 3 by Lawrence and Lucia Cinatto. She graduated from Arma High School in 1933.
She worked at several retail businesses in the Arma and Pittsburg area.
Lena married Lloyd Bennett of Girard on February 15, 1941 in Lamar, Missouri. They resided in Girard until Lloyd’s death in 2000. Lena was most recently a resident of Cornerstone Village in Pittsburg.
Survivors include her adoring adoptive sister, Rosalie Ison and husband Jim of Pittsburg and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Jim Musso, husband, Lloyd Bennett, and other loving family members, Lawrence and Lucia Cinatto and Reno and Rina Noor.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 18) at Brenner Mortuary, with Fr. Larry Parker officiating. Music will be provided by Sharon Barone. Burial will be follow in the Girard Cemetery at Girard, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Brenner Mortuary, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund or the United Way. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
