Ronald E. Lake 65, of Pittsburg, KS died 8:25pm Friday March 5, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center following a long illness.
Ron was born April 29, 1944 in Pittsburg, KS to Lawrence E. and Doris Faye (Wilson) Lake. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended area schools.
On May 15, 1964 he married Sindy (Shultz) Lake in Pittsburg, KS; she survives at the home.
Ron worked for the Railroad for 34 years including Frisco and later Burlington Northern. He also was a member of the United Transportation Union. He was of the Christian Faith; loved woodworking, fishing and gardening in his spare time.
Survivors include his wife, daughters Lisa Keller and husband Tim of Pittsburg, KS, Aimee Zacarello and husband Cory of Frontenac, KS; sister Phyllis Black of Pittsburg, KS; grandchildren Aubry, Todd, and Kaytelynd Keller, Brett and Hadyn Zacarello; a surviving niece Sherri Black and her children Sarah, Stephani and Shane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother in-law Jimmy Black, niece Lori Black and nephew James Kelly Black. Private Graveside Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS at a later date. Family will receive friends from 7-8 pm Tuesday March 9, 2010 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Friends may call after 11am on Tuesday.
