Ronald E. Lake 65, of Pittsburg, KS died 8:25pm Friday March 5, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center following a long illness.

Ron was born April 29, 1944 in Pittsburg, KS to Lawrence E. and Doris Faye (Wilson) Lake.  He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended area schools.

On May 15, 1964 he married Sindy (Shultz) Lake in Pittsburg, KS; she survives at the home.
Ron worked for the Railroad for 34 years including Frisco and later Burlington Northern.  He also was a member of the United Transportation Union.  He was of the Christian Faith; loved woodworking, fishing and gardening in his spare time.

Survivors include his wife, daughters Lisa Keller and husband Tim of Pittsburg, KS, Aimee Zacarello and husband Cory of Frontenac, KS; sister Phyllis Black of Pittsburg, KS; grandchildren Aubry, Todd, and Kaytelynd Keller, Brett and Hadyn Zacarello; a surviving niece Sherri Black and her children Sarah, Stephani and Shane.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother in-law Jimmy Black, niece Lori Black and nephew James Kelly Black.  Private Graveside Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS at a later date.  Family will receive friends from 7-8 pm Tuesday March 9, 2010 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS.  Friends may call after 11am on Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
