Billy (Bill) G. Jones, 78 of Scammon, KS died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday November 25, 2009 at the St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO.
He was born July 28, 1931 in Monmouth, KS the son of Jesse Francis and Grace Ivon (Green) Jones.  He was a long term resident of the Southeast Kansas area.
Billy served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1952 until 1955.
He married Ann Hare on October 22, 1956 in Cordaline, ID; she survives at the home.
Billy worked for the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant as an Explosive’s Operator on the 300 production line from 1973 until his retirement in 1991.
Survivors include his wife of the home; 2 daughters Cheryl Widner of Scammon, Debbie Klingman and husband Gene of Parsons; 4 Grandchildren Megan Widner, Lindsey Perry and husband D.J. and Stacy and Barry Klingman; and 7 Great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents a brother Harold Jones and a sister Wilma House.
Billy has been taken for cremation.  Private family services and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date at the Monmouth Cemetery.  Condolences can be sent to www.bathnaylor.com.  Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Legion Post #64 of Pittsburg.  Memorials may be mailed to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
