Scott Leo Dayton, 80, longtime resident of Tulsa, OK, native of Pittsburg, KS, went to be with the Lord at 10:16 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at his home.
Scott was born February 27, 1929 in Aurora, MO to Lt. Maxwell Freeman and Ada (Halter) Dayton. He attended area schools. He attended and graduated from Kansas State Teachers College, known today as PSU.
Scott was in sales at Bank Note Printing Company for 23 years retiring in 1998 as the Vice President.
Scott attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS.
He is survived by his sons Scott Joseph Dayton of Dripping Springs, TX and Kenneth Dayton of Stigler, OK; grandsons Ryan Dayton and wife Darcy of Dallas, TX and Chad Dayton of Oklahoma City, OK, along with many many friends. The family wishes to thank his many friends for their kindness and prayers he will always be remembered by all.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, son Maxwell Dayton and ex-wife Jeanne (Bridwell) Dayton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00pm, Monday, November 9, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS with Fr.  John Hays as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS.  The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Sunday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. E-mail condolences may be left at our Web site www.bathnaylor.com. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Memorial fund. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg.
