ARMA —

Mary A. Longo, 92, of rural Arma, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Heritage Nursing Home at Girard. Mrs. Longo was born June 1, 1916 at Franklin, the daughter of Anton and Magdalena Waligorda Bowvel. Mary was a homemaker, seamstress, and famer. She lived in rural Arma most of her life and had been a resident of the Heritage Nursing Home since 2005. Mary was raised in Franklin and attended Franklin Schools. She had been an employee of Annshire’s Garment in Pittsburg. Mary was of the Catholic faith. Surviving is a son, August Longo of Arma. Mary was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Longo, and a son, Daniel Longo. Two sisters, Josephine Pollack and Virginia Kostering.

Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with Father Robert McElwee officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedene Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kan. 66712.
