PITTSBURG —

Merle W. Gamblian, 48, of Pittsburg and a former Parsons resident, died at 5:39 a.m., Monday, May 05, 2008 at the St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin.
He was born on December 21, 1959 at Parsons, Kansas to Charles and Bessie Mae (Keeling) Gamblian, Sr..  He grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools.
He had lived in Columbus for several years prior to living in Pittsburg.  He had worked at the Salvation Army in Pittsburg for the past eight years. He and Judy Hills were married on August 22, 1985 at Columbus.  She survives of the home.
He attended the Wesley House in Pittsburg and the Free Will Baptist Church in Parsons.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Other survivors include one brother, Luther “Butch” Gamblian, and his wife, Donna of Parsons; numerous nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; one great-great niece; and a sister-in-law, Ann Dickens of Parsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles Gamblian, Jr. and Jimmie Gamblian.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Springhill Cemetery near Parsons.  The family received friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Thursday evening.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Parsons.
