William K. “Bill” Wilson, 52 of Pittsburg died at 7:11 a.m. Saturday November 10, 2012 at the Via Christi Hospital Emergency Room following a sudden illness.

He was born February 9, 1962 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Charles and Jennie (Sterling) Wilson.

Bill was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army and the National Guard.  One of his proudest moments for the service was building a school for the children in Panama.

He married Alitha Lacey, she survives at the home.

Bill was currently working for Pittsburg State University-Sodexau catering/chef services.
He had a love of cooking and sharing that gift with his family as often as he could.  He loved going to flea markets, and loved the “hunt” for the one great find.  His granddaughter was the center of his world and loved going to the parks and playing with her & reading books together.

Survivors include his wife Alitha of the home, a daughter Sarah Joe Lacey and a son Taylor David Lacey both of Pittsburg; a sister Judy Lester of Lake Dallas, TX, a brother Bob Wilson of Weir; and a granddaughter Chloe Teagan Snell of Pittsburg.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

According to his wishes Bill has been taken for cremation.  Services and inurnment will take place at a later date.  Condolences can be sent to www.midlandcremationsociety.com  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Midland Cremation Society, Joplin, MO.
