FRONTENAC —
Phyllis Jean Potts 79, of Frontenac, KS went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Phyllis was born August 6, 1933 in Eldorado, Illinois the daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Self) Mills. She graduated from high school in Eldorado moving to this community in 1976. Phyllis was a homemaker and loved to cook for her family.
She sang on the radio as a young girl and sang for various occasions. She will be most remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her children Thomas Potts and wife Denise of Hobart, IN, Frances Potts of Cherryvale, KS, William Potts and wife Kathy of Lafayette, IN, Kenneth Potts and wife Judy of Surprise, AZ, Stephen Potts of Frontenac, KS, Glen Potts and wife Diane of Frontenac, KS, Darrell Potts of Frontenac, KS, Deborah Longan and husband Dan of Pittsburg, KS and Richard Potts of Pittsburg, KS; siblings Janice Columbo of Herrin, IL and Buck Mills of Sioux City, IA; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Tom and Sarah Mills, son Robert Potts and a great-grandchild Chance Pearson.
Funeral Services will be 10am Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Rev. Don Talent officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 6-7pm Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 12pm on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Angels Among Us. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.
