Juanita Giger McWilliams, 94, of Joplin, Mo., died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at the Webb city Health and Rehabilitation in Webb City, Mo.

Mrs. McWilliams was born May 27, 1918, at Arcadia, Kan., the daughter of James Frederick and Mabel Faye Farmer Giger. Juanita was a retired income tax accountant and real estate and insurance agent. She was raised in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1936. She moved to Bakersfield, Calif., in 1940 and moved to Joplin in 1973. She married Owen D. McWilliams on Nov. 13, 1938 in Arcadia, Kan. Mr. McWilliams survives at the home. Additional survivors include a daughter, Julene Embrey and her husband Carl of Bakersfield, Calif.; a son, Richard McWilliams and his wife Judy, of Joplin, Mo.; a sister, Louise Willhite of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Lloyd Bouldin; two sisters, Erma Hertweck and Winoea Mabray; and a brother, Bill Giger.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kan., with the Rev. Eldon Allen officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Cato, Kan. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bedene Chapel prior to services. The family suggests memorials to the Hospice Compassus of Joplin, Mo. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, KS 66712.
