Fern O. Edwards, 93, of Pittsburg, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at Via Christi Hospital.

She was born June 11, 1919 at Manilla, Iowa, to William and Freda Wenzel. She graduated from Manilla High School and attended Normal Training Course at Denison, Iowa.

She taught in a country school in Manning, Iowa.

On October 30, 1939, she married Ralph O. Edwards. He preceded her in death in 1983.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan C. Comstock of Castle Rock, WA; a son David R. Edwards of Castle Rock, WA; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty A. Barrick in 1992, two brothers, Harry Wenzel and Al Wenzel and a sister, Carol May Fair.

A graveside service for Mrs. Edwards will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday (Oct. 1, 2012) at the  Garden of Memories with Dalton James Windsor officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Brenner Mortuary.
