Dr. Robert “Bob” Eugene Venturella, age 80 of Pittsburg, KS passed from this life Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, KS.
Robert was born March 17, 1932 in Anadarko, OK to the union of Joseph and Ethel (Heavin) Venturella. Bob graduated the University of Oklahoma with a PhD. of education. He spent over forty years as a professor at Pittsburg State University, retiring in 1996. Bob enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. He was a man that took education very seriously and always found ways to better himself, hoping to pass his knowledge along to his peers and students.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Joseph Wayne Venturella and Richard Venturella. He is survived by one brother Charles “Buddy” Venturella of Baxter Springs, KS; three sisters Bea Reid of Boron, CA, Eva Welch and Gladys Hall both of Baxter Springs; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Lowell Cemetery, in Lowell, Kansas. Rev. Tony Venturella will officiate the services.
