Walter Milton Hutchens, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family June 10, 2012 at the Via Christi Hospital.  Walt was born in Pittsburg, KS May 26, 1942 to Walter Hutchens and Jesse Buess.  Walt was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jim Jones, and two sons, Raymond Pope and Jeffery Pope.  Walt is survived by nine children; Janice Collins, Kathy Mishmash, David Pope, Donna Merrill, Daniel Pope, James Hutchens, Lisa Hutchens, Thomas Hutchens, and John Hutchens; 28 grand children and 15 great grand children.  Walt was a life-long mechanic that enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Walt loved being with his family and friends (always had a story or joke to share).   The Memorial service will be at the Church of God Holiness, 602 North Chestnut in Pittsburg, KS 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM June 15, 2012.
