Janis Elizabeth Walters, age 58, of Cicero, IN, died July 4, 2009 at Riverview Hospital.
She was born July 19, 1950 to William and Joanna (Hammond) McMurtrie. She was a graduate of Stephens College at Columbia, MO. She was a homemaker and a member of AARP. She was married to John Ellis Walters who survives her. Also surviving is a daughter: Elizabeth Starr Miller of Brunswick, GA. Brothers, William Hogin McMurtrie, Jr. of Encinitas, CA, and James Russell McMurtrie of Indianapolis, IN. Preceding her in death is a son, William Scott Miller. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. Rev. Neal Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at the Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. prior to the services.
