Arline B. "Leanie" Nusbaum, 76, of Iola, Kansas, died Monday, February 8, 2010, at the Chanute Healthcare Center.
Arline was born June 25, 1933, at Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Sophia (Malakowsky) Kilmer. She grew up in Owatonna and graduated from high school there in 1951.
On June 2, 1951, Arline married David E. Nusbaum in Owatonna. They moved to Kansas in 1952. They made their home in several communities following his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a homemaker until working as a home health nurse for Mt. Carmel Hospital while they lived in Pittsburg, Kansas. He retired and they moved to Iola from Pittsburg in 1988. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2000.
Survivors include five sons, David R. and wife, Elizabeth, of Bel Air, Md., Kenneth and wife, Gail, of Iola, Brennen of Nevada, MO, Tom of Borden, Ind., and Joe and wife, Paula, of Pittsburg; four daughters, Barbara Collins and husband, Gary, of Iola, Mary Robertson of Lawrence, Patty Ramey and husband, Terry, of Wooster, Ohio, and Janet Murray and husband, Bill of DeSoto; one sister, Ila Jones of Austin, Minn., 23 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Al Kilmer.
Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m., Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church in Iola. The Rev. Bruce Kristalyn will officiate. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Gas City Cemetery in Gas, KS. MEMORIAL: Grace Lutheran Church. Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
