Corey Dale Larson, age 34, resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Friday, June 29, 2012 following a jet ski accident on Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas.  He was born July 7, 1977 in Fort Scott, the son of Curtis Dale Larson and Brenda Yoos Larson.

Corey was a 1996 graduate of Fort Scott High School.  He also graduated from the Heating and Air Conditioning program at Pittsburg State University.  He married April Houser.  To this union was born their daughter, Madi. They later divorced.  He then married Christal Murray.  He spent much time with her son, Clayton.  They divorced.  Corey’s life was richly blessed with the birth of Madi on February 2, 2000.  He spent countless hours with her fishing, hunting, camping, swimming, coaching her softball team and attending her many activities.  He loved anything to do with being outdoors or on the water. 
Corey was an avid fisherman, hunter, and was a member of the local bass club.  He looked forward to many fishing tournaments.  He was a member of the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge, Fort Scott Scottish Rite and the Mirza Shrine of Pittsburg.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Brenda Yoos Larson, Deerfield, Missouri; his father, Curtis Larson and wife Cindy, Fort Scott; one daughter, Madison (Madi) Larson, Fort Scott; and a sister, Tosha Larson, Memphis, Tennessee.  Also surviving is his paternal grandmother, Grace Larson, Fort Scott; maternal grandfather, Bill Yoos and wife Carole, Bronaugh, Missouri; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special friend, Candace Elliott and daughter Alyssa.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Alfred (Swede) Larson and his maternal grandmother, Barbara Amer Yoos.

William James Schafer will conduct funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Friday in the Buck Run Community Center.  Casketbearers will be Dru Bowman, Max Bradbury, Blake Conner, Matt Conroy, Shane Doherty, Kenny Lile, Trent Ludwig, Josh Query, Mike Russell, Dustin Staples, Kenny Yoos, Steve Yoos and William Yoos.  Following funeral services cremation will take place with private burial at a later date.  The family will receive friends for viewing and visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.  Memorials are suggested to a Madi Larson Scholarship Fund and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
