Thomas  “Tom” Wayne Marshall Sr., 66, was released into the arms of our loving Savior on Saturday January 26, 2013 at Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, Kansas surrounded by his family.
Mr. Marshall was born July 11, 1946 at Ponca City, Oklahoma to Leah Mae Coon who preceded him in death on November 20, 1960. He was left an orphan at the age of 14, a loving family took him in and became what he called his “foster parents” Melvin and Marshall. He considered them his family. He was married to the love of his life Peggy “Sue” Wilson on March 10, 1976. They had 2 boys whom he adored. He joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served our country in the Vietnam War. He was an excellent carpenter and owned and operated his own construction company. He trained his boys from a young age to follow in his footsteps and they have become excellent carpenters. He turned the business over to them in 2009. They proudly run it today. He was a member of the Faith Holiness Church in Joplin, Missouri. He was a loving, caring, and giving man. His grandchildren were his life. He will be greatly missed. But we will meet again in heaven one day where there will be no more parting!!! Survivors include his wife, Peggy “Sue” of the home, two sons, Thomas “Tommy” and his wife Lamonica and their children, Dallas and Heather, Michael “Mike” and his wife Amy and their children MaKenzie, Serenity and Aaron all of Arma, three great nieces whoem he helped raise, Britany Neil of Arma, Heidi Wood of Lamar, Missouri, and Chelsea Williams of Pittsburg, one brother, Robert “Rick” Coon (Sharon) of Girard, four sisters, Connie Moran (Ed) of Canton, Michigan, Diana Baker (Richard) Wichita, Pat See (Randi) of Wichita, and Cora “Corky” Johnson (Chris) of Joplin, Missouri, his foster parents, Melvin and Mary Marshall and their sons, Brian and Bill all of Pittsburg, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
