Dorothy B. Viranda, 93 died Feb. 20, 2013 at Gran Villa of Pittsburg.
She was born July 28, 1919 on a farm east of Burlington, KS, to David and Pearlena (Danley) McCollum.
She was united in marriage to Dominic Viranda August 15, 1937 in Garnett, KS; he preceded her in death on January 5, 1987.
She was a Charter member of Grace Methodist Church, where she was a working member until her health failed.
She worked at the Ammunition Plant in Parsons during WWII and the Korean War. She also worked for Mac’s Food Market, Bridwell’s Grocery, Foodtown and IGA Supermarket.
Survivors included a daughter Emmaline Rodich and husband Frank; three grandchildren: Steven (Cindy) Rodich of Tulsa, OK, Randall (Paula) Rodich of North Augusta, SC and Debra (Rick) Jarboe, Wichita, KS, three great grandchildren: Jordan W. Rodich, Rachael Rodich both of Tulsa and Christopher (Shanel) Rodich of North Augusta, SC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother Preston McCollum, two sisters: Blanche Combs and Laura Mae Showalter and three sisters: Myrtle, Inez and Lara, and a brother Irvin who all died in infancy.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7:30pm on Sunday.
