Virginia Ann (Cronister) Huston, 88, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away at 9:03 a.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009 at her home.

She was born September 7, 1921, at Pittsburg, KS, to George and Grace (Plunkett) Cronister. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1939.

On November 22, 1941, she was united in marriage to Hugh Forrest Huston in Pittsburg, KS. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1995.

Mrs. Huston was employed by Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator for 26 years. Membership was held in the First Baptist Church of Pittsburg, KS.

She is survived by one sister Grace P. Cronister of Pittsburg, KS; and thirteen nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, H. Lee Cronister and Roy W. Conister, one sister, Mildred Glaser and one nephew Lee Cronister III.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, (Nov. 4th) at the Brenner Mortuary with Reverend Gene DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church of Pittsburg, KS. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Online condolences may be left at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg.
