Jolene Lucille Attkisson Creagar passed away at home on October 31, 2009.
She was born November 20, 1936, in Hepler, KS, the eldest daughter of Norris “Brown” and Julia Maffei Attkisson.  Jolene graduated from Hepler High School, and attended Pittsburg State Teacher’s College, where some of her poetry was published in the college newspaper.  She married Jerry Creagar in 1955.  They were divorced but remained good friends throughout their lives.   Jolene’s greatest joy was in her family and friends.  She was a devoted mother and proud grandmother, and leaves her children: Monty (Jennifer) Creagar, and Chae (Steve) Scharf; grandchildren: Amy Petrosino, Sara Kate Creagar Ozbun, John Creagar, Raechel Scharf, Sam Creagar, and Daniel Scharf; and great grandchildren: Cynthia Petrosino, Ana Tibbet, Joshua Ozbun, Anna Ozbun, and Cassius Petrosino.  She is also survived by her sisters: Kathy Schnabel and Linda Hall, and many dear cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Susan Seaver.  She was a Rainbow Girl and a member of the Eastern Star in Hepler, KS.  Her love of family and friends and great sense of fun will be missed by all those who love her.
Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2009, at McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS.  Visitation will be from 1:00-2:30 p.m., preceding the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children Hospital, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO, 63131.
