Dr. Robert C. O’Reilly, 84, of Ralston, Nebraska, died Jan. 10, 2013.  A memorial service was held Jan. 19 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ralston.  Bob was born in Girard, Kansas, on Dec. 17, 1928.  He was the youngest of seven children born to Patrick and Hattie O’Reilly.  He graduated from Girard High School in1947.

He later graduated from Pittsburg State University, University of Wyoming, and then Kansas University where he received his doctoral degree in education.

He taught in Robinson, Kansas, and Sioux City, Iowa, before settling in Ralston in 1964.  During his 27 years at University of Nebraska Omaha he served in various capacities including associate dean of the graduate school.  Bob and Marjorie

“Marge” Newell were married May 29, 1954.  Survivors include his wife Marge of the home, sons Daniel and Timothy O’Reilly of Ralston, 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and sisters Velma Gillette and Lucy Pyle McFall of Girard.  

He was preceded in death by his daughter Megan in 1982, his parents, his three brothers Arthur, Justus, and George O’Reilly, and sister Harriet Hendricks.
