PITTSBURG —
Dear Sir:
Somewhere in Pittsburg is a Democrat with stolen yard signs for Republican candidates in his possession. The signs for LaTurner, Hucke and Romney/Ryan were stolen from my yard and other yards on Saturday night under cover of darkness. This person no doubt thinks they are clever by suppressing my right to free speech to help his or her candidates gain political advantage. What this fool doesn’t realize is that by hindering my freedom he robs all Americans of their freedom including democrats. Even sadder is the fact that in state and local races candidates often pay for much of their campaign out of their own pocket and these are not wealthy people. There is no super pac backing them, just friends and family and their local party. We need good people; Republican and Democrat to run for public office. Liberty thieves like the person who steals yard signs is not a clever patriot but a traitor to the democratic process because they discourage those who could be good public servants from even running for office. I normally try to investigate all candidates for state and local office and vote for who seems likely to do the best job regardless of party affiliation. But this year I’ll vote a straight ticket.
