Dear Sir,
I am so glad to hear that the Besse has been renovated. It’s like Pittsburg ‘s Empire State Building. I didn’t know it had been vacant since the early 80’s. I read that it might have been torn down otherwise. That would have been a major shame. It always looked so “big city “ to a young kid. Now whenever I’m in town, it’s a window into the past. If the Safeway hadn’t been renovated, 70’s Pittsburg would be completely intact at 4th and Locust. I hope other places are preserved as well. Maybe they could fix up Washington Elementary.
