Dear Editor:
Good Morning!  Nov. 11th was Veterans’ Day and Applebee’s gave veterans and their wives a free meal as a way of thanking veterans for their service (I’m a USMC Vietnam veteran myself).  The management and staff were great and I just wanted to publicly thank them for their generosity.  Since moving to Pittsburg in 1994, I have lost track of how many people have thanked me for serving as a Marine, starting with JT Knoll.  Prior to that, I recall only two people ever thanking me for serving.  However, on a sad note: Did you know that approximately 2,200 veterans die every year because of a lack of health care coverage?  Think about it!  Thank you.
