Dear Editor,
As far as I can tell, here’s the way most Kansans believe:
(1) Yeah, we’ll admit Bush got us into not just one, but two unnecessary wars.
(2) He didn’t pay for the wars by raising taxes--he fought them on borrowed money.
(3) Bush expanded the government and other spending tremendously while cutting taxes.
(4) The deficit AND the debt ballooned (there really is a difference).
(5) Bush policies caused an almost-depression.
(6) BUT OBAMA HASN’T CLEANED UP THE MESS FAST ENOUGH.
(7) Thus, we should elect Republicans and go back to the Bush practices that got us into this mess in the first place.
Doesn’t make much logical sense to me, but Kansans are set in their ways.
