Dear Editor,
My son went missing 11/24/12, was found 11/26/12, and through the efforts of  many people, was laid to rest 12/13/12.  I would like to thank The Morning Sun for their coverage of my son’s story.  I would also like to thank Nikki Patrick for her story of the PSU Social Work Plus Club and bringing this forward to the community. Thank you to the Pittsburg Police, Pittsburg Fire, Frontenac Fire Departments, and Newton County  for the long hours of searching. Thank you Det. Rebekah Lynch for your kindness.  Thank you to the PSU Social Work Plus Club for the fundraising which allowed the burial to take place . A special thank you Samantha York for leading the PSU Social Work Plus Club fundraising efforts and for her kind words which brought great comfort to this grieving mother. I would also thank my co-workers and special friends at the Pittsburg DCF office for their donations, food, and support. Thank you to Paige Harper and Tom Lohff,  Also, my co-workers at Pittsburg Wal Mart for their fundraising, donations, food, and support.  Thank you to my friends and to the friends of my son for their visits, prayers, donations, and help with arranging the funeral. Thank you to Jerry and Peggy Derfelt of Derfelts Funeral Home for you compassion.  And a great thank you to the wonderful people of the Pittsburg community.  Many thanks for loving family, devoted friends, and people who cared about a boy they did not know.  R.I.P.
