To the editor:
Our so-called leaders in Congress and the President acted like a bunch of school kids and played the “chicken” game right down to the very last minute before they got together and kept the country from going over the “fiscal cliff.”
Well “Hurray for our side” whichever side you were rooting for, but as for this writer I think we all should be yelling for the American side. Now let’s get down to some serious business and stop all this name-calling and finger-pointing crap.
There were two main groups involved, the President and his bunch of “Chicago-style politicians” and our Congressional nerds. But wait, there is another group that should be in there fighting for America and that is the American people.
“We the People” should be in there telling our knuckle headed Congress what we want them to do and demand that they do it when it needs to be done, not after the next election.Each group had a hand in getting this country in the mess that we are in and it will take each group working together to get us out of it.
Now it is time for us to roll up our sleeves and put on our thinking caps and get to work getting us out of this mess.
