Dear Editor:
Health care! Really? The FDA decides what one can take for ailments, drug companies produce it and doctors prescribe it. The medical trinity.
Forget natural remedies and supplements. The FDA won’t approve these. TV ads claim FDA approved certain drug and it’s been studied for 17 years, wow, but no claim of producing a cure or improvement. It may help, but they won’t approve natural/supplements on the same basis.
I just bought some sassafras bark and it has a label “not for use as food” - required by law. Will they ban our spices, garlic, vinegar, fresh fruits and veggies also? Medicare controls type of treatment/procedures/tests regardless of other insurance. Our money has the same value, but the cost of our care doesn’t.
