Football grievances

Dear Editor,
Watching football at a stadium is a boring experience, but on TV it is like enduring a root canal for three hours. The actual game is great, but technology has turned it into a video game. Your favorite team may score and excite the home crowd, the players and TV audience, but wait, some guy in the press box is looking at multiple views of the play. You may wait several minutes to find out if the score is legitimate. You may have sat through other replay delays leading up to the score. They only review plays which have a competitive effect on the game. I would think that would be every play. They don’t look at penalties, but how long will that last? TV moguls think the TV audience watches because of the commentators, technology or the time of day. You may see the same play several times. You feel like yelling, “Guys we are ready for something new!” Personally, I watch all sports with the sound off. The expert commentators seem to think you want to play or coach at a high level when all you want is to watch football.
College football used to be an event on the campuses in college towns, but now the game may not be on either schools campus. A couple weeks ago Notre Dame played Washington State in San Antonio.   Even PSU plays  Northwest Missouri at Arrowhead. C’mon, guys. Get the game back on the field and on the campuses.
