PITTSBURG —

Dear Editor
I recently read an article, that was published in The Morning Sun. The article was titled “Self proclaimed Indian Chief found guilty.” I am writing, because I want the readers to know Malcolm Webber is not a criminal mastermind.
I know Malcolm personally and the truth is, he is a good hearted, soft spoken, compassionate man. He is the type of person who smiles a lot, doesn’t entertain gossip and spreads joy through children’s jokes, fun facts and kind comments. Malcolm is not even comfortable watching a movie unless it’s rated G or PG. The last time I saw him he was watching a Disney Cartoon with his granddaughters.
If Malcolm Webber was in fact attempting to assist illegal immigrants with documents to help them stay in this Country, he would not have done it for personal gain. He would have truly believed he was helping these people.
I am not writing as a supporter of people who try to obtain residence illegally. I believe that the process that our government has set forth should be followed. I understand that people who do break the law in attempt to help immigrants become part of this nation, most often are working out of love and compassion. I, on the other hand am also capable of being cold hearted and saying we need to send these people back to where they came from. Not because I don’t care about these people, but because I care more about the safety of the American people. We need to know who is in our Country and if they are a danger to us. I also believe that tax paying Americans should have first dibs at employment, housing and other services. When taxpayers are employed money is put back into the system. When illegal people are paid cash, that money can’t be taxed. Thank you for reading.
