PITTSBURG —

Dear Editor
In response to the recent letter to the editor titled “Look out for cat trappers”.
Property owners have every right to keep unwanted animals off their property. The problem is with irresponsible pet owners who think its OK to let their pets run wild throughout the neighborhood trespassing onto other people’s property. The problem with cats is that they tear up gardens, eat flowers and plants and to top it off they tend to jump on vehicles. Why should Sherry’s neighbors have to tolerate her cat because she is an irresponsible, inconsiderate and selfish pet owner that doesn’t care about surrounding neighbors that doesn’t want her cat on their property?
The neighbor’s yard is not a playground for Missy. The cat has no right being on someone else’s property and it’s up to pet owners to ensure that they aren’t. The moment Sherry’s cat trespassed onto her neighbors property is the moment they reserved the right to capture the cat and have it hauled off. Don’t’ like it? Then keep your cat inside or keep it within your yard. If you own a cat and let it run wild outside, then you have to accept the fact that there is a chance that the cat will either be ran over or hauled off. People have a right to protect their property, pet owners need to be more responsible, if they can’t then they need to get rid of the pet.
