GIRARD —

Dear Editor:
On April 18, Wall Street was jubilant. They bought big time. At the close, the Dow was up to 231.72. The third straight day that it had gained. The question is why?
Citygroup lost 5.1 billion the first quarter. The housing industry is falling like a lead balloon. We owe about 9 trillion dollars, mainly to a potential adversary, China. Too many employers are outsourcing our jobs. Including both National and State governments jobs, making our country weaker financially, and militarily. It is as though the powerful tycoons of corporate America would prefer to get richer by advancing the welfare of a nation that one day may attempt to take over this great nation, to the degree that a take over may be feasible. And that possibility should be understood, and drive all of our citizens to demand an end to this way of acquiring wealth.
We are losing 10’s thousands of jobs through the HIB visa program, yet the President, all three leading candidates for president, and all of the most powerful members of the democratic party are heaping HIB visas on corporate America, with the sole purpose being to lower our workers wages.
With lower wages, and our dollar value spiraling downward, our food, fuel and clothing going up daily. The American workforce is cascading into poverty.
So what makes Wall Street so eager to buy? It is that part of the above that says that the working man is on the losing end of the economy. His pay scale being lowered, or his job lost completely.
The investors see their dividends on their stocks going up with every job cut. Never putting together the prospect that what is happening to the working man may come back to roost on their doorstep. That once he can no longer guy, the whole house of cards may come tumbling down around them. The investors are counting on foreign economies to keep the ball rolling, but our troubles are destabilizing their economies too. So in the long run, the investors may be setting themselves up for a fall. Just like 1929 all over again, and we may lose this nation completely.
