GIRARD —

Dear Editor
I oppose giving amnesty to telecommunication Companies that spied on American citizens —  A clear and unambiguous statement.
I will have the troops out in sixteen months. A clear and unambiguous statement. I will use public funds in the general election. A clear and unambiguous statement. Obama made all three statements, and they are clear enough to warrant no further discussion. But time passed, and the mission for his candidacy was completed. For better or worse, with the connivance of cable news, and interference of the D.N.C., Obama is the official designated candidate for the Presidency of the U.S.A. When the vote came up on amnesty for those Companies who were caught spying, He flipped flopped, and gave an excuse. Now, his “all troops out” changed to “I will bring them out in stages that insure their security.” A slightly different meaning, but still within a tolerance of acceptability. But, this is early July. The war in Iraq seems to stabilized to a point where there are not as many deaths, and their passing is not noted as strongly as they were before the surge, when we would hear body counts nightly. Who knows? By November, it may be as peaceful as Philadelphia on a Saturday night, and he will get away with forgetting “Out in six months” altogether.
“I will use public funds” has been discarded as well. Now he claims to be using public funds, because he is not taking PAC money. Those who contribute to PACs still funnel money to the dot coms that support him for President. So that claim is ambiguous. The pundits that saturate cable talk shows, are still acting as cheerleaders. They are giving him cover, by saying that he is moving now to the center. Making it completely acceptable to mislead the voters when ever it is convenient.
I wonder about the integrity of these people who are suppose to keep us informed.  Are they truly doing justice to the young voters? Voters who have no previous experience to judge the politician by. Voters who get most of their information through the Internet blogs, which are mainly hyperbole. Or the  comedians who are no more reliable then the bloggers.
That type of information is in a large degree the driving force that got George W., to the white house. I can still hear Wolf Blitzer, Tim Russert, and almost every other commentator, time and time again telling us “He is someone you would like to have a drink with.” Well, we had that drink, and we need no more media sponsored candidates.
