PITTSBURG —
Labette County defeated St. Mary’s Colgan 16-13 Monday night in the final JV football game of the year for the Panthers.
Colgan led 7-0 at halftime on a 7-yard TD pass from Kaleb Hamilton to Ian Duncan. Labette County knotted it up on a Dominic Johnson 47-yard run.
Joe Battitori gave Colgan its final score of the game on a 16-yard run and Labette County finished the scoring in the fourth on a Christian Smith 16-yard run (13-13 tie) and a game-winning Lane Rosenberg FG with 17 seconds left.
Youth basketball
The Frontenac Youth League is sponsoring the 10th annual Fast Break Youth Basketball Tournament for Dec. 14-16. Eligible participants are third-sixth grade boys and girls. The $125 entry fee must be paid by Nov. 30 ($140 after Nov. 30) and it guarantees three games. Entry deadline: Dec. 6. Space limited to the first six teams paid in each division.
