Pittsburg sophomore Katy Short lost her opening match at the Class 4A tennis state tournament Friday to Emily Sarnacki of Winfield 6-4, 6-1. Play was suspended Friday and postponed Saturday due to inclement weather.
Play will be resumed today and Short will face Savannah Cornejo of Wellington in the consolation bracket this afternoon.
