The Pittsburg High school volleyball team finished 2-1 in a quad in Parsons on Thursday.
The Dragons defeated Parsons 25-6, 25-27, 25-19. They upended Independence earlier in the night 25-13, 25-12. Labette County defeated Pittsburg 25-22, 25-17.
Skyler Muff had eight kills and five blocks against Labette County. Erin Duncan and Chloe Harris both had service runs of eight points. Duncan’s run came in the first set, while Harris’ came in the second. Andie Casper strung together a 9-point run in Game 1 against Parsons, she also had a run of seven points in the third game. She also had five kills on the night. Ashley Willis had three kills and two blocks against Parsons.
The Dragons improved to 2-4 on the season.
“We’ve gotten quite a bit better from the last three days of practice,” head coach Mary Packard said.
“The kids are starting to gel more on the court with chemistry. They’re coming around. We have moments of brilliance and moments where they lose focus. We’ll just keep going back and improving ourselves.”
