GARDEN CITY — The St. Mary’s-Colgan boys’ golf team took second place in a field of 12 teams at the 2A State Tournament on Monday at the Golf Club at Southwind.

SMC was led by Bradley Beykirch, who placed second individually in a field of 87 golfers with a score of 75.

Connor Wilbert was also instrumental to the Panthers’ second-place finish, placing fifth with a score of 78.

Trevor Graham rounded out the top-ten individual leaders by tying for ninth place with an 81 on the scorecard.

Cal Marquardt came in close behind in a tie for 13th with an 82.

Garrett Bolinger tied for 25th with a score of 90 and Carter Barnes rounded out the day for the Panthers, tying for 39th with a score of 98.

TROJANS TAKE NINTH AT STATE

Girard’s boys’ golf team placed third in a field of six teams at the 4A State Tournament at Wamego Country Club on Monday.

Spencer Warner led the way for GHS, shooting an 82 and tying for 15th place.

Cole Warner tallied a 85 and tied for 28th overall.

Eric Wilson tied for 69th with a 98, while Cooper Brown tied for 79th with a 102.

David Reno and Kyler Siebert rounded out the day for Girard, placing 87th and 90th respectively with scores of 106 and 108.
