CARL JUNCTION — It was a rough night for the Frontenac High School basketball teams on Tuesday against Carl Junction, as the Lady Raiders lost 72-27 before the boys’ team fell 47-36.
BULLDOGS TOO MUCH FOR LADY RAIDERS
Everything was going in favor of the Bulldogs in the first game of the night, as they held the FHS girls’ team to 27 points in the win.
Carl Junction had control of the contest from the opening tip, putting the clamps on the Raiders in the second quarter, outscoring them 20-6.
Despite the offensive struggles, Taylor Peterson and Madi Davis both played quality games, contributing eight and five points respectively.
FHS BOYS HELD IN CHECK BY CJ
After scoring the first six points of the contest, the Raiders fell behind halfway through the first quarter — following eight consecutive points by Carl Junction — and couldn’t regain the lead in the 47-36 loss.
Frontenac stayed within striking distance in the first half, but fell behind by double digits in the third before going on to take the loss.
Daniel Watts and Jake Wilbert had the hot hands for the Raiders, posting 12 and nine points respectively in the loss.
