PITTSBURG — A 52-31 win for the St. Mary’s-Colgan high school boys’ basketball team over Olathe Heritage Christian Academy on Tuesday put the Panthers one step closer to a sub-state championship.
SMC took care of business at home as the No. 1 seed, holding Olathe to five points in the first quarter and 12 points in the second half en route to the win.
The Panthers were led by 15 points from Aaron Higginbotham and 12 points from Jeremiah Buche.
With the win, Colgan advances to round two of the tournament to be played at time which is still to be determined.
