EMPORIA — Baldwin left little to doubt in the 86-46 win over the Frontenac High School girls’ basketball team on Wednesday in the first round of the Kansas 4A DII state tournament.

Coming off of a win over the defending Girard Trojans in the sub-state championship, the Lady Raiders couldn’t keep the momentum going in the loss to the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs wasted no time in taking control of the game, holding the Raiders to eight points in the first quarter en route to building a 24-point advantage.

Free throws from Bria Ginavan, Taylor Peterson and Jadyn Meyer kept the Lady Raiders in the contest, but Baldwin continued to pull away, going up 51-19 at the end of the second quarter and coasting to the win in the second half.
