Pittsburg — The Frontenac Raiders traveled to St. Mary’s Colgan where they shut-out the Panthers 13-0 in five innings on Monday.
Frontenac scored all of their runs in the last three innings, scoring five in the third before tacking on four runs in both the fourth and fifth frames.
Peyton Brown paced the Raiders at the plate, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Jake Lee went 2-for-3 with four RBIs.
St. Mary’s Colgan was led by Jeff Schremmer who finished 2-for-2. Cade Simmons and Logan Lindsey capped off their day with a hit each.
Game two between the teams was postponed by the weather. Frontenac led St. Mary’s Colgan 12-10 in the bottom of the third.
Softball splits series
The St. Mary’s Colgan softball team split their series against Frontenac, winning game one 12-2 before dropping the second game 8-2.
The Panthers scored seven runs in the second inning, before tacking on two runs in the fifth followed by three more in the final frame.
Frontenac scored a run in the first and third innings.
The Raiders turned the tables in the next game, scoring eight runs in the first three innings.
