FORT SCOTT — The Pittsburg softball team stumbled in their doubleheader at Fort Scott on Thursday, losing 12-2 and 9-2.

The Dragons scored early in the opening game, after Myla Turner crossed the plate on a groundout from Sydney Linahan in the first inning.

Pittsburg would then go scoreless until Sophia Pinamonti’s RBI single in the fifth.

Zoe Pinamonti and Kaydn Matlock finished with one hit each.

Game two Fort Scott 9, Pittsburg 2

As with game one the Dragons opened the first inning with a run, this time by way of a RBI single from Matlock. Jenna Broyles doubled home Pittsburg’s second run in the fourth frame.

Shannon O’Hara led Pittsburg in hits with two. Mallory McThompson chipped in a hit as well for the Dragons.
