HAYS — Pitt State suffered their second-straight loss of the season on Saturday, falling to the Fort Hays State 50-21.
After falling behind 9-0 early in the first quarter, Pitt State quarterback John Roderique found Brenner Clemons for a 25-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit.
After a Tigers field goal, Tyler Adkins rushed for a 20-yard touchdown to give the Gorillas a 14-12 advantage.
It would be the last time Pitt State held a lead, with Fort Hays responding with a 31-0 run.
Roderique found Lorenzo West 15-yards downfield for his second touchdown of the game midway in the fourth quarter.
Roderique threw for over 175 yards and two touchdowns, but also had two interceptions.
West finished with 13 receptions for 96 yards.
Tigers quarterback Jacob Mezera completed nine of 17 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns.
Layne Bieberle paced Tiger receivers with 119 yards and a touchdown on four receptions.
Fort Hays are now tied with the Gorillas for second in the MIAA conference.
Pitt State look to get back on track this upcoming week in their homecoming game against Central Missouri. Kickoff is tabbed for 2:05 p.m.
