Nelson takes second in 60m

Junior Rosalyn Nelson lowered her season-best time in the 60 meters again Saturday (Feb. 6) racing to a second-place showing in the event at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.

Nelson was clocked in 7.55 seconds. The Fort Scott, Kan., native shaved another .03 seconds off her season-best time in the event, further strengthening her provisional qualifying status for the NCAA Division II Indoor Nationals.

Freshman Jalexis Peterson also placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 38-feet, 4-inches, while sophomore Heidi Smith finished 18th in the shot put with a mark of 43-1.75.

Sophomore Kaley Teemat placed eighth in the mile (5:13.02), while junior Caitlin Laskowski finished ninth in the event (5:15.02).
