During a special meeting Tuesday night, the Frontenac USD 249 Board of Education voted to hire Kevin Carey as the next head coach of the Frontenac High School football team.
Carey has 14 years of experience in high school and college coaching, serving most recently as recruiting coordinator and offensive line coach at Nichols State University in Thibodaux, La.
A Dewey, Okla., native, Carey played college football at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and at Sterling College, where he was team captain, MVP and an all-conference lineman.
Carey holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Sterling and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Hastings College.
Carey replaces John Palumbo, who stepped down from the FHS coaching spot following the 2009 season.
