MIAMI, Okla. —

Girard’s Trey Scallions and Trenton Mein have not had their name on the leaderboard very often throughout the golf season.
However, on a day when it really mattered, their names were right on top.
Scallions and Mein each shot a 78 to take first and second, respectively, at the Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee League golf championships at Peoria Ridge Golf Course on Thursday.
Girard (327) won the team title by 11 strokes over runner-up St. Mary’s-Colgan (338).
Charlie Sloan of Colgan was one shot back of Scallions and Mein to finish third overall. Frontenac’s Kolter Krumsick (82) was fifth behind Baxter Spring’s Bryce Rowe (80) and the Raiders (366) were third behind the Trojans and Panthers.
Besides Sloan, fellow Panther Stu Mitchelson (85) and Chas Smith (85) placed seventh and eighth respectively.
Girard’s J.D. Heatherly (85) and Zack McFarland (86) placed ninth and 10th respectively.
Macon McNair was just two shots out of the top 10 with an 88 for the Trojans and Colgan’s Will Hudson tied Girard’s Trent Boultinghouse for 12th with an 89.
Thomas VanBecelaere shot an 90 to take 14th individually and Anthony Ison tied with Frontenac’s Cole Brewer and Brandon Long for 18th overall with a 93.
Southeast’s Rich Brewer carded a 97 to lead the Lancers (423) to a seventh-place team showing.
For the Raiders, Eric Pew shot a 98 to place 24th along with Baxter Springs’ Kody Morgan.
Boone Pyle was one shot back with a 99 to tie for 26th with Southeast’s Zane Dye and Riverton’s Garrett Greer.
